EMPOWERMENT

Empowerment is a critical component of everything we do, and is the basis for the programs we run. In committing to a comprehensive 'whole of person' approach to empowerment, The Unmentionables runs a range of activities at our locations around the world. Men, women, youth, and children can take part in learning modules and extracurricular activities focused on personal growth and healthy active living.

Our signature empowerment module is UnExposed, an intensive, six-week photography education and mentoring initiative that seeks to encourage refugee youth to tell their own stories, their own way, through art and storytelling. UnExposed students are taught theory, composition, artistry, and technique by professional photographers so they can begin telling their own stories, and the stories of those around them, through photography.
