Normal Website Usage
You can visit most portions of The Unmentionables' website without telling us who you are and without revealing any personal information. The only information we collect from a normal website visit is the name of your Internet service provider, the browser and type of machine you are using (mobile, tablet, computer), and the date and time of those requests. This helps us see how many people accessed our information online, and what they did with it. This information is used internally only to inform and improve our website and online communication. It will not be shared publicly. During a normal website visit, we do not collect or store personally identifiable information such as name, mailing address, email address, phone number or social security of the visitor. We do not collect any other information without the visitor's knowledge and permission.
Collection of Personally Identifiable Information
There are instances where The Unmentionables requests personally identifiable information to provide you with organizational or programming updates, relevant information, or correspondence. This information, such as name, mailing address, email address, type of request and possibly additional information, is collected and stored in a manner appropriate to the nature of the data by The Unmentionables. The information you provide is used by The Unmentionables to improve the services and information we provide our visitors.
Personally identifiable and financial information (including donation amounts) that you enter as part of the website's online donations, fundraising, or contact forms is strictly confidential and will not be shared with any other organization.
The Unmentionables is an organization built on the hard work of volunteers. While volunteers names and likenesses may be used in project update publications, The Unmentionables will not post personal contact information for volunteers, including their email address, street address and phone numbers, without that individual's consent. Staff and volunteers who submit material for the website are responsible for securing permission from any volunteer whose personal contact information is to be posted on the Web site and for communicating that consent to website staff. Without such consent, website staff will withhold posting personal contact information for that individual.
Occasionally, The Unmentionables requests website visitors participation in surveys to improve our organization and our web presence. These surveys are entirely voluntary and each individual can choose whether or not to disclose information through them. All personal information, including email addresses, street address, phone number, and other contact or personally identifying information will be kept in strict confidence and stored on our secure servers. Survey responses will be used solely to improve organizational operation.
All persons who join or donate to The Unmentionables, whether via regular postal mail, over the phone or through the website, will receive periodic updates from The Unmentionables by email. You may request to opt-out of these updates by contacting email@example.com.
