Human Resources Officer (Volunteer)

Reports to: Managing Director

Start Date: October 2018

End Date: January 2019 (role can be extended)

Responsibilities:

  • Research, design and implement new material for recruitment, hiring, and on-boarding of teammates

  • Learn general human resource management, to include: salary administration, employee surveying and employee management

  • Research USA and Canadian best practice management policies and protocols

  • Lead the creation of foundational HR policies and work closely with Managing Director to set departmental direction

  • Seek ways to connect a remote team, encouraging professional and personal relationship building

  • Manage teammate records and databases

  • Conduct analysis on emerging HR issues

Skills and Requirements:

  • Must embrace The Unmentionables’ mission

  • Completed or working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or similar.

  • Previous, demonstrable experience in HR, leadership, writing, or database management required.

  • Understanding of or prior work/volunteer experience in a non-profit is a plus.

  • Excellent writing, verbal, proofreading, editing, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a remote work environment.

Compensation:

This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
